The client had identified an opportunity
for a more effective design of cool box to carry vaccines, blood
products and transplant organs exploiting the benefits of solid
state cooling devices and monitoring the system with an integral
microprocessor. The internal temperature of the container would
be recorded at regular intervals thus verifying that the quality
of the contents is maintained.
The design concept was optimised for useability,
capacity, thermal efficiency, weight, cost and transportability.
A concurrent approach was utilised enabling the project from
concept to working prototype to be completed within a tight
8 month time frame.
